My name is Olivia Hai Lai Jiao. I was born in Vancouver, BC and I am a current grade 11 student at University Hill Secondary School. I consider myself a loud creative person, always looking out to explore and discover. This is a part of why I love telling stories of any form and medium, both ones of my own and stories of others that I’m honored to hold. I’ve personally always felt an extremely strong connection to nature. Growing up I was taught and raised on the idea to learn about nature, like understanding the oceans and forests around me, and to immerse myself into it. I think that within everyone's life it's important to be aware and educated on the state of the environment they live in. Especially the harbors here on the west coast and the islands. We are brought together by the ocean, connecting us all together as a whole. I decided to join this project to take a step towards the awareness of local environments and youth environmental action. Learning more about ecosystems and sustainability. Hopefully, we’ll be able to research and discover together, sharing our explorations to contribute to the conservation of local biospheres.
